Black Excellence: A Heritage to Celebrate; a Future to Build
Every February, people across Canada participate in Black History Month events and festivities that honour the legacy of Black people in Canada and their communities.
The 2024 theme for Black History Month is: “Black Excellence: A Heritage to Celebrate; a Future to Build”
The City of Lloydminster in partnership with the Catholic Social Services, Lloydminster Local Immigration Partnership, LPSD, and LCSD are pleased to bring a series of presentations to students in the community.
We will start our activities with an opening keynote speech by Ben Acquaye and presentation at the Lloydminster Comprehensive High School (Address: 5615 - 42 Street Lloydminster, AB T9V 0A2) on Tuesday February 6, 2024 at 9:30 am. Mayor Aalbers have gracious accepted to open the event and offer remarks to the assembled students, staff, administrators, and the media.
